Terms of Service

Last updated 5 August 2026

Plain summary: joining and releasing costs you nothing, you keep 100% of your rights, and you receive 80% of the revenue we collect for your music and channels. The sections below are the detail.

1. The agreement

These terms form the agreement between you and TuneUp Distro when you create an account and use our music distribution, YouTube network, analytics, payout or advance services. By creating an account you confirm you accept them.

The agreement is non-exclusive. You may distribute or monetize elsewhere at the same time, subject to any store or platform rules that apply to a specific release or channel.

2. Who can open an account

You must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian enter into this agreement on your behalf. You must provide accurate account, tax and bank details and keep them up to date.

You must control the content you submit and meet the rights requirements set out on our eligibility page. We review every release and channel before it goes live and may decline anything that does not meet them.

3. Fees: nothing upfront, no subscription

There is no signup fee, no subscription, no per-release fee and no annual fee. Uploading, delivery, ISRC and UPC codes, Content ID registration, analytics, splits and support are included at no cost to you.

We are paid solely from our revenue share described in section 4. If your content earns nothing, you owe us nothing.

We will not introduce a charge for existing services without notifying you in advance. If we ever do, you may close your account and still receive any balance already earned.

4. Revenue share: you keep 80%

Stores, platforms and YouTube pay us for the content we deliver or manage on your behalf, after deducting their own share and any applicable taxes or withholdings.

Of the net revenue we actually receive for your content, 80% is credited to your account balance and we retain 20%. That 20% covers delivery, rights registration, claim handling, collection, accounting and support.

If you have set collaborator splits on a release, those percentages are paid out of your 80% share, not in addition to it.

Revenue is reported to us by third parties, often with a delay of one to three months. Balances may be adjusted if a platform later reverses, corrects or reclaims a payment, or where fraudulent activity is detected.

5. Your rights and warranties

You keep 100% ownership of your masters, compositions and channels. You grant us only the limited, non-exclusive licence needed to deliver, register, monetize, protect and account for your content while this agreement is in place.

You warrant that you own or control all rights in everything you submit — recordings, compositions, samples, artwork, video and channel content — and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or breach any platform policy.

You are responsible for obtaining any licence a cover version, sample or third-party asset requires in the territories where it is released.

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from a breach of these warranties.

6. Payouts

You can request a payout of your confirmed balance from your dashboard. Payouts are made by bank wire to an account in your own name or your company's name.

We notify you in the app and by email when a payout request is approved, rejected, paid or fails. Fees charged by your own bank or by intermediary banks are outside our control.

We may hold a payout while we verify identity, bank details, a rights claim, or suspected artificial streaming or engagement.

7. Advances

Advances are optional, offered at our discretion, and reviewed case by case against your earnings history. An advance is recouped from your future royalties before further balance is credited to you.

An advance never transfers ownership of, or equity in, your catalogue or channels. Full terms are presented with each individual offer before you accept it.

8. Prohibited conduct

You must not upload content you do not have rights to, misrepresent metadata or artist identity, register third-party assets to Content ID, or use bots, paid streams or purchased engagement of any kind.

Artificial activity voids the affected revenue. Where a platform reclaims payments already made to us, the corresponding amount is removed from your balance.

9. Suspension and termination

You may request takedown of a release or removal of a channel at any time, and you may close your account. Any balance already earned and confirmed is still paid out to you.

We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, repeated rights infringement, fraud, or where a platform requires it. Where the breach is not serious we will normally contact you first.

Delivery to stores and removal from stores are carried out by third parties and can take several days to complete.

10. Changes, liability and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes, and will post the new version here with an updated date. Continued use after an update means you accept it.

The service is provided as is. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts, delays or policy decisions of stores, platforms or banks.
